SATAN IS THE TRUE ENEMY
Satan is the true enemy

O people! Eat of (food) that is lawful and good that is on earth, and do not follow the steps of the devil. Indeed, Satan is a real enemy to you."
(Al-Baqarah [2]: 168)
When they hear the term "jinn" or "devil", then in the minds of some people, fear arises in dealing with it. This is not entirely wrong, because there are many factors that can cause this. Among them, the role of the media that gives stigma almost every day, namely jinn or devils are scary creatures, creatures that always disturb, creatures who are very easily disturbed by human existence, and so on. In fact, we as humans and they are both creatures of Allah I who are burdened with the law to worship Him as stated in Q.S. adz-Dzariyat [51]: 56, which means "And I did not create the jinn and humans except that they worship Me". Everything other than Allah I is called a creature, whatever and whatever its form, because Allah is al-Khaliq (the Creator) and other than that is al-makhluq (the created).

From the verse above, we can take a lesson that between humans and jinn there is a point in common, namely that each has the ability to choose a good or bad path. We often hear that besides jinn, often disturbing humans are demons. It turns out that the devils who are told a lot to our God in the Qur'an, are among the jinn. From this explanation, we understand that "jinn" is a name for a creature that Allah created from fire and "satan" or "devil" is a nickname for jinn. About this will be explained later.

  • If they mean absolute jinn, then they call jinniyyȗn
  • If they mean the jinn who live with humans, then they call 'âmir the plural form 'ummâr,
  • If they mean jinn who used to come to children, then they call spirits,
  • If they mean the jinn who are evil and hinder good, then they call Satan,
  • If what they mean is a jinn who is more evil and more capable, then they call it 'ifrît

In addition to this explanation, the term "satan" is used as a nickname for the jinn who are desperate from the mercy of Allah I, while "devil" is used as a nickname for the jinn who are full of deceit.
We all have to believe in the existence of jinn, but that doesn't mean we have to be afraid or even submit to Him. Because after all, various arguments have clearly stated that the jinn are included in Allah's creatures I. On the other hand, we must also believe that humans are actually Allah's most noble creatures, but this glory does not deserve to make them arrogant towards other creatures. If arrogance exists, it can result in his rank being much lower than the devil and will cause Allah I to be very angry. In a Hadith Qudsi it is stated: “Glory is My shroud and arrogance is My shawl. Whoever takes off one of my clothes, I will surely torture him” (H.R. Muslim). The meaning of the word revoke in the hadith is to feel himself the most noble or to act arrogant. On the other hand, if humans do the best obedience to Allah I, then it is not impossible, he becomes more noble than the angels. This is because humans, by Allah, are given complete gifts in the form of bodies, spirits, hearts, minds and passions. These five things can change his position, especially in the use of reason and lust.

Enmity and war between humans and demons will continue until the Day of Resurrection. The root of this enmity is none other than the arrogance and arrogance of Satan or the devil and begins when he refuses to prostrate to Adam as a form of respect for him. Many verses of the Qur'an warn us to always be aware of the temptations of Satan and his skills in misleading humans with perseverance and high enthusiasm. How could it not be, the devil who was the first to disturb humans, by Allah I was given a death suspension until the Day of Judgment, so that the strategies of Satan and his followers in misleading humans were continuously updated, as a result of which the devil's way of fighting with humans was increasingly full of deception. The higher the quality of a human being in terms of piety to Allah I, the higher the quality of Satan's tricks to disturb him. The way Satan interferes with ordinary people will certainly be different from the way Satan interferes with a knowledgeable person.
From the explanation above, we as human beings who believe, of course have to position Satan as the real enemy and at the same time have to be aware of his tricks. The sense of revenge that Satan has since being expelled from heaven will continue to burn his spirit in misleading humans until the Day of Judgment comes. Not a single human being is free from demonic interference. Therefore, let's take a closer look at some of the devil's techniques in misleading humans.

There is a story that is very important for us to take lessons from, namely about an expert in worship among the Children of Israel who was classified as pious at that time. At that time, there were three brothers who had a sister who was a virgin and had no other relatives. When his three brothers intended to go to war, they were confused. To whom should his sister be entrusted; who will protect them and provide for their needs in their absence. After a long time, it occurred to them that the safest and most reliable way to entrust their sister was to the Israelites. At first, the worshiper insisted on refusing him, but after being urged by them, he finally accepted his sister to live in a house near his monastery. At first, the obligation of the worshiper to the woman was carried out properly and with great care, but the devil began to launch his deceitful attacks slowly and gradually, until in the end various sins were carried out by the worship expert which caused him to be beheaded. , and in the end he died in a state of sul khatimah. Na'ȗdzu billâhi min dzâlika.
In closing, there is no reason for all of us as believers to not cooperate in fighting Satan as the real enemy. We pray to Allah to always give us strength and istiqama in facing the wiles of Satan and his followers. We should be grateful that Allah I gave us a very, very great blessing, namely the presence of the Prophet Muhammad r who brought the prophetic message as well as the greatest miracle of all time, namely the Qur'an. In addition, the Prophet also described in his hadith various things about the tricks of the devil and how to fortify him. May sholawat and greetings always be poured out on him the Prophet Muhammad r. Habibullah and the Prophet of the end of time. Allâhumma shalli wa sallim wa barik 'alayh wa 'alâ alihi.
